It would be nice if writers were actually familiar with the topic they are writing about.

Tomb of Elders is not a "familiar activity". Every section and encounter in Tomb of Elders is completely different from Prison of Elders or Challenge of Elders, which were in Destiny, not Destiny 2.

The Prison of Elders from Forsaken was not an activity, it was a location for part of the campaign.

Completely different bosses, different mechanics, different locations, different loot, different everything.

Not "albeit with a few changes". The only similarity is the name "elders" and Variks.
