Oh ex-blizz boss, the same company that told us we thought we wanted to play classic WoW but really we didn't want to play it. No wonder his title starts with 'Ex'.

Why Oblivion Remastered Might Be More Important Than Elder Scrolls 6 Right Now

Making a new game and remastering a old title are two entirely different projects. The former takes a lot more time and resources. So, it's no surprise developers would prefer to do remasters for as more immediate profit which can give the team working on new titles more to work with. Everybody wins.
