The first character I played was a tiefling Eldritch Knight, but I was so overwhelmed by everything I missed that I restarted.

The second character I played was a drow Cleric who worshipped Eilistraee, but a bug when leveling from 6 to 7 killed the playthrough.

My most recent character and the one I did the most with, making it well into Act 3, was a drow College of Valor Bard who also worshipped Eilistraee, but mods that weren't safe to update mid playthrough killed that playthrough because I updated them without knowing it wasn't safe.

So now, having put in all that effort and lost it, I've taken a step back from Baldur's Gate 3, but I liked being the figurative and almost literal face of my party as a Bard, so when I get back into the game to restart again, I'm going to play that character again because for all the companions and all the subclasses, none of them are Bards without respeccing them.
