See AllThe Latest Doctor Who Might Already Be Done With the Role
The problem is that Doctor Who and Marvel are pushing at niche markets so much that they're forgetting the mainstream audience, then wondering where all their viewers have gone. I'm not saying don't push to include everyone, but there is balance. Historically Doctor Who has had something for everyone. These days it very much caters more for the LGBT+ crowd, and I'm saying this as a gay person. What was once a way to escape the real world has now become so grounded in the real world that it's become boring and predictable. I don't want a lecture, or a telling off; I just want a decent adventure that shows me the beauty of a universe where everything is possible. The writer's need to go back to the drawing board and form portrayal of the Doctor which is popular with the mainstream audience, just as David Tennant and Tom Baker were. Focus on the fun, not the lectures.
