Fig is definitely a punk, but I think my theory is looking alot more epic and possible now. Everyone has been Luffy/Teach final battle crazy for so long now. I was pushing back as soon as people started pushing Teach as Luffy's true final battle. Imu is definitely the final battle and Teach/Luffy team-up looks crazy possible since it most likely takes them both to do it from what we've learned of Imu and his lore around his weaknesses. Luffy's greatest power has always been said multiple times to be his ability to inspire others to follow and stand beside him. Only Teach bad blood is the potential revenge on his father's death. With Luffy it's Ace. Now we know Fig is the actual killer much like Teach didn't technically kill Ace. A fight with Teach or Luffy vs Fig, a Luffy vs Teach fight with Fig/Imu present or prelim with Imu where a " You moron Fig is the one that killed your father" is revealed. Then we are definitely getting an EPIC Strawhats/Blackbeards team up after Luffy uses his true strength/nature to inspire everyone to put aside their differences and join him in ending the world government. I can definitely see this as the final KoP Luffy ending. Oda has definitely crafted an epic tale no matter what.

Feel like the Luffy/Teach team-up has been laid out in plain site for a very long time. It's got the indirect death of Ace to deal with, but since the beginning it's been clearly laid out that Luffy's greatest strength isn't himself, but rather those he can unite around himself when absolutely needed. Their may still be a final showdown between the 2, but a team-up to take down Imu once and for all...that seems highly likely to fit neatly into everything Oda has already established.
