I assume that particular games have particular fans, rather than the company that makes a variety of games having generic fans. And if those games were all that popular, then they would not be dropping them. As the article even points out, many of these as simply versions of a game that has been superseded by a (presumably) better, newer version. So, once again a Rant site has missed the target (almost as if on purpose for the sake of a dramatic headline).
