See AllThe Boys Season 4 Is Being Review Bombed
As a Canadian and a person who really doesn't care about politics (like I REALLY don't care), let me give you an unbiased opinion on this latest season. I've watched all 4 episodes that have released so far. I just want to be entertained plain and simple. This show was cleverly written and well structured from S1E1 and onward up until this season. The subtlety of the politics made it bearable for someone from a country that isn't close to as divided as the USA is. Now I'm going to get a little nasty here but consider this tough love because I really do love the USA and most of their citizens. From what I am FORCED to see day in and day out on the news/social media is the constant divide and tribal nature of you Americans. Both your current and former presidents have all been pathetic and this is coming from a guy who has Trudeau unfortunately running my country. Almost everything you guys touch nowadays needs to be politically driven in some way and it's just lazy and tiring at this point. I'm well aware that the boys is and always has been a politically driven show/comic and I went into it knowing just that. There was a subtle approach to the writing like I said before. Almost tongue and cheek and mostly tasteful enough to satisfy both left and right leaning people. This latest season so far has been very ham fisted in its writing and not because frenchie is bi or homelander is kinda like the orange man. I really dont care about stuff like that and most grown up people don't. Im disappointed because it feels like an angry Twitter group wrote the script at times. Where are the clever plot points that would shift the story into a new and exciting direction? Where are the character moments that change how you perceive them? Amazon should take notes from fallout in terms of keeping things grounded and respecting their audience. If people can sit there and tell me the show has always been this way, they clearly weren't paying attention.
