For me, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has some of the best progression. It starts out brutally hard, as you're essentially a country bumpkin with no armor and the progression of your character is so perfectly lined up with your own skill progression that it feels seamless and extremely satisfying when not only is Henry getting better, you are as well. Unreal game overall.
