It should take as long as they need. Switching engines is not easy, the whole scope of the project changes. Not to mention this time they need to make sure online multiplayer works properly

Moving from UE4 to 5 is just as streamlined as it sounds. Moving from an engine very few people have any experience is another story entirely. This becomes exceedingly harder as developers that worked on Helldivers 2 move on to different studios. The usual spaghetti code nightmare comes to mind.
