See All'It'll Destroy Their Reputation, Their Company, Everything': Baldur's Gate 3's Karlach Actor Weighs in on AI in Games
...yeah, I am with Samantha on this one. I mean AI has a lot of potential, but what these companies are talking about is REMOVING the human element entirely. Before long they will be using sound bites to synthesize a voice and remove the need for voice actors entirely. They are already trying to do that with the art designers.
They want to save money by having AI do everything so they do not have to pay their staff, and the execs can pocket all the profits leaving the actual workers in the dirt.
So yeah, Karlach said it right, this will hurt them in the long run. AI is NOT the way to go with this industry. AI has it's uses, and it's place. But it can NEVER replace the human element. Nor should we attempt to do so. Skynet or the Matrix anyone?
Those movies have stopped being Science FICTION, and are now becoming a cautionary tale on what COULD happen if we take AI too far Too fast.
I acknowledge AI for what it is, a useful tool to help AUGMENT the human element. But NEVER replace it.
