I think you may be a bit too dismissive of the enhancements. It's not just graphics, but the controls are vastly improved as well (especially the camera on the first game) and many performance hiccups have been fixed. I've still encountered a couple minor bugs, but having revisited the PS1 version recently, this is a much better experience.
