Honestly, I understand not doing a full on special or anything for the anniversary because, like this says, it wasn't an anniversary for the show in general, it was a revamp anniversary. Yes I would have expected BBC to at least make a little more fuss of say posting on social media platforms for the anniversary, that is a little puzzling. On another hand people are expecting the producers to give all this information about the new season, if you are a longtime fan you would understand that Doctor Who likes to leave you hanging and questioning then shock you. This is all around. New fans are expecting to much and to be catered to and given everything, that's not how this Fandom works. 🤷🏼‍♀
