Here’s the problem. You can be expected to hold to the commitments you make to others. If you came out and said “I MIGHT eventually do this, but don’t count on it.” Or “I overstretched myself. I can’t make good on my promise.” It’s disappointing, but okay. But.. A: This isn’t an unreasonable on the fans part. HE made, then failed to carry out deadlines. B: Fifteen years. People have been born and become old enough to give birth in this time frame. Let that sink in. C: It’s not unjust to be angry when someone promised to do something for you, but everytime you see them they’re doing everything and anything but doing their best to make good on that promise.
While people shouldn’t be awful, they’re not being unfair. If he doesn’t like people’s anger and frustration, stop putting them in that position. Admit your failure, try to make some amends and give back what I’m sure was a substantial forward to the publisher. Then everyone can move on.
