8 JRPGs With The Most Playable Characters, Ranked
I'd like to point out some glaring mistake here.
1-Only the PS3 version of Eternal Sonata has 12 playable characters they were added as an extra.
2-Pokemon X and Y releases in 2013, not 2023. Also you forgot Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, which were the last game to allow every Pokemon to be playable at that point. USUM has about 810 Pokemons,.
3-Radiata Stories doesn't have 178 PLAYABLE characters. It has 1. The other 177 are AI controlled.
4-Someone already pointed that out, but Trails of Cold Steel isn't the game with the most playable characters in the Trails Series. Reverie has even more
5-Funny you decided to count the Temporary characters of Chrono Cross, but not the ones of Funal Fantasy VI. For Final Fantasy VI, you forgot Banon, Leo, the Ghost and all 10 Moogles (other than Mog), Bringing the total to a whopping 27 character. We can drop it to 26 since Umaro isn't playable as he's always controlled by the AI.
Lastly, it's not a mistake, but more of a case of strong bias towards Pokemon. Why do you count Pokemon, but not Dragon Quest Momsters with its's 500+ roster, Yo-Kai Watch with its 600+ Roster or Digimon with its near 400 roster (Digimon Dawn/Dusk)? A case can be made against Yo-Kai watch due to how the game plays (except the Blasters Games) but Dragon Quest Monster and Digimon also have fully controllable roster in the hundreds.
