Movement is pretty simple, actually. It feels similar to ARC Raiders but not nearly as mechanic-heavy as Borderlands. I'd say it just feels a little faster-paced.

I would recommend doing some freeform exploring to solve that problem. You can find Saviour Schnapps all over the place in the open world. Just explore all the landmarks and you'll end up with more than you can handle.

I think whether gameplay is a chore or work is entirely subjective. Work is only work when it starts feeling like work, and that generally depends on the person and what they're doing. What some players might consider "work" in KCD2, for example, I consider fun.
