Lord Of The Rings: Characters Who Are Stronger Than Gandalf
We know very little about Bombadil. About the only thing we know for sure is that he isn't affected by the ring, this doesn't mean he's stronger than it's power. The book suggests he's just incorruptible by it. So no, nothing to suggest he's stronger than Gandalf. Elrond - no. Even his parents who actually bore the Silmaril aren't stronger than Gandalf. Weird to even see him on this list. Galadrial - also no. She's one of the few Elves left on ME to have seen Valinor, so she's definitely among the strongest non-Maiar beings on ME, perhaps even the strongest with the ring she has, but not stronger than Gandalf - a literal demi-god. Bilbo - no. The hobbits are oddly incorruptible, which is what makes them vital. And Bilbo is exceptional for even them. It's more fortitude than strength. Saruman - maybe. From recollection, he might be a little stronger or a little weaker. But I doubt there is much in it. He became the leader of the Council because he wanted to lead it, and Gandalf didn't, it wasn't sue to strength. Sauron - yes. You could argue otherwise based on Gandalf being restricted, and Sauron not being. But in a practical sense, he clearly is stronger on ME
