This isn't exactly the way it works... The system is training wheels to acclimate Jinwoo to his powers without blowing up. Ashborn, by the time we see him for the first time has already made a choice that ensures, we never truly see his face or learn more than a small amount over him.
Honestly, bragging rights has always been the reward for a full dex, and it became nearly impossible years ago, until Arceus, I haven't completed the dex since platinum came out for the ds. Probably could have up to black and white, but didn't want to take the effort to transfer hundreds of pokémon over a few hours from my older games. Heck, I still have 2 gba, 2 ds, and 2 3ds for playing co-op games and trading between accounts... Old handhelds are getting pricy for originals.
Yeah... All that was needed for this article is one word. NO. She doesn't awaken, and if she did her brother wouldn't let her become one. Also this article says she could be on par with the greatest hunters in the world, not the way it works, as shown by a pair of brothers where 1 is a top S-grade and the other is an average C-grade.
This writer did not research into the world mechanics. It is impossible for a hunter to change the mana levels in their bodies. That is why, regardless of how much he tried for years, Jinwoo Sung stayed at rock bottom E-Rank. A hunter who's mana levels do change have undergone a "reawakening" which is caused by drastic circumstances completely out of anyone's control, or just completely by random. There were other issues mixed in, but this was where my biggest problem with it lies.
