I watched the modern series of Doctor Who 4 or 5 times. Although I found Jodie Whittaker to be flat I think it was very much the fault of the writers. We always watch the previous season when a new season comes out to catch up on where we are at but the current doctor put a very quick end to our viewing. We watched the first episode with bemusement, thinking this was just another in the long line of shows having done a musical episode. We watched the second episode with a quickly growing horror. The third episode only got about 10 minutes in before we turned it off. We haven't watched any more since. It's not that we are opposed to a gay doctor, we are big supporters of all things PRIDE. I was really excited at the idea of a flamboyant, gay Doctor but what we got was not really very "doctor like". He took on the persona of the actor rather than the other way around. It made me cringe and watching it was far from an enjoyable experience for us. I look forward to a new doctor so we can get back to watching our favourite show on TV.
