I’m excited about it because I feel like developers are generally terrible at balancing their own games. (No shade to most developers though since there’s no way to hire enough testers to accurately model a playerbase of millions of people of all skill levels.) A lot of max difficulties feel like a slog. Upping the time to kill by giving enemies more health makes it harder but it doesn’t make the game more fun unless there’s a way of dealing more damage that requires more skill than simply sitting there waiting for a safe window to attack.
But hey, maybe some people find bullet sponges a lot more fun to fight than I do, so we could both find a personal difficulty that feels like a test of skill without feeling tedious. Everyone wins.
