The Fable showcase offered a slight bit of consolation.
Is it sexist to want the protagonist and ALL characters, both genders, to be appealing and pretty in a fantasy game setting? I don't think it is.
I think that the "concerns" and the "debacle" were well founded, due to the fact that the developer actively chose NOT to showcase character creation and simply kept the same "brown protagonist" image throughout the first revealed images/videos.
They could have easily mentioned a character creator or changed up the protagonist looks to appeal to a wider audience, but they didn't. And that may cost them some would-be sales in the end... Or maybe it's all a non-issue now and ALL of that initial backlash has COMPLETELY turned entirely around. Good luck to them.
