I'm pretty sure the RANK RESET that people complain about is the main reason that allows Rivals to drastically alter characters and gameplay without making ranks unfair. Since some people climb in a completely different landscape with xp that was fundamentally different and with meta tanks and healers that are far different for John in silver than they were for Jake in Grandmaster 3 months ago.
