I solely used longsword up until the Bride fight in the shaft area after cloudspire. Parry focused build was fun, but it requires everything to be done manually. I honestly can’t believe how much easier the game is with the instant clash feature of the dual blades. It turns the game from a soulslike to a basic hack and slash for every encounter, I’m not sure they really thought the clash mechanic through, because it’s far too automatic compared to sword deflection.
