Blue Gate is by far my favorite map. Lots of variation, tons of open area for long range fights, lots of inside areas for closer range fights, and loot areas spread out to give diversity for every raid.
Ranger is the way to go, you just have to use your skills constantly. Use mark to pull a group, backpedal away while shooting and lay a trap. The quick melee enemies will pop on the trap and the ranged enemies die quick.
At level 12 or so I was soloing up to the 4th boss no problem, and unless I had really bad trinkets, would generally get to the 5th boss.
There is no way you put Skif's pistol at number 8... Absolutely no way.
You get the extended mag and silencer in the main mission in the first 45-60 minutes of the game, it has higher damage and penetration output than any of the.45 guns. Drop in the cheap-as-dirt RGO28 ammo and you have an absolute headshot beast that weighs nothing and costs nothing to run.
The only thing that beats it in any real way is the Rhino- and that is highly situational.
