I thought it was common knowledge that Mikon was officially designed by gamefreak as a pre-evolution for vulpix--and then scrapped for unexplained reasons. Not creaked ex nihilo from a pokemon fan artist.

There also could have been discussion on more fan-made fakemon based on vulpix. Discussion of the Delta species psychic vulpix and ninetales from the TCG. Too bad this article was so rushed.
