I also wouldn't say they wrecked Mark's image 'beyond repair'. The news pretty clearly knows that the damage wasn't caused by the real Invincible, and the only time we see anyone blame him is when a dozen or so people give him sideways looks after Powerplex chews him out publicly.

Mark Kent and General Conq pulling a Man of Steel by tossing each other through several city blocks worth of occupied skyscrapers was entirely avoidable, though, so maybe someone will hold him accountable for that.
