I’m surprised by two things, the lack of the two Zelda open world games and the inclusion of Minecraft.
Breath of the Wild seems to be the most obvious choice for a list of “Open World” games, while I struggle to see Minecraft in that category. While you can freely move around the world, the world itself is randomly generated as you move, it is just the same areas with slight variations. Plus, no actual storyline is present. It is a sandbox game not a game with an open world.
Genshin Impact is my favourite game, and not just out of the ones on the list. Being a live service game, new content is constantly available, with version updates every 6 weeks.
The entire world is breathtakingly beautiful, the music is amazing and the story will pull you in immediately. If you want to experience an insanely complex and detailed narrative with compelling lore, then clear your schedule before jumping in because this game delivers that and more.
