My personal head cannon for v is the he and Panam find someone who can create a fresh body for him. Since Alt used Soulkiller on him and he is essentially an engram in his own body. The best cure would be a body that his engram can overwrite much like Johnny was overwriting V's brain.

As far as the sequel, I'd love to see the main conflict shift to AIs starting to come across the Blackwall like with the Rogue AIs. This could pull in a ton of characters like V, Songbird, or anyone who's touched or crossed it as they have special experience regarding it and the AIs. Further, they could tie in at least *two* of the unsolved mysteries list (the Peralez's and Mr Blue Eyes) if they wanted. Johnny already hinted during the end of Dream On.

V doesn't have to be a main character but adding him and some of the pivotal people from 2077 to add to the storyline would be a great nod to the fans who have put hundreds of hours into the game to learn everything they can (and are still finding more).
