Sparks flew? They literally had anti chemistry and at no point did Sydney seem to reciprocate Kincaid's weird obsession with her. She was also single in Scream 4 so even if they were together after Scream 3, it didn't last. The films never stated she was married to Kincaid so there's no discrepancy.
