Highguard is failing because it has poor design choices. The developers clearly worked hard but they made a game people don't want to play. There is no need for anyone to be supportive of a product they don't enjoy. The people quoted in this article do not seem understand they are in entertainment and their job is to please audiences and customers, not themselves.

I don't understand why gaming news sites are so negative about this. One of the best things about skating is seeing other people pull off tricks and sharing spots and hanging out. I love skating irl, I love MMO's and I loved the original skate games so this is hugely exciting to me! I also think since skating culture involves so much cosmetic customisation of boards and fashion that it's a great match for live service.
