The best isekai's try not to over it. Season Three of slime was a bit story driven because it had to setup the next arc and that's how the novels set it up.
Look at Ascendance of a bookworm. I think that isekai balances out the genre the best.
I do agree though a lot of isekai does tend to be a bit tropey. Although I believe it's anime as a whole now. Most new anime rely on cheap tricks vs good story telling.
