They "fixed" one issue and created several more. Like the article says leveling is insanely fast now so you skip most of the mid game in just a few hours. The result of minmaxing is now basically automatic since you get 12 points per level up. Not quite the 15 you could get from fully minmaxing in the original, but it's still more than you'd get from playing normally. The result is too many attribute points which means you max out several attributes easily and quickly. On top of that they directly nerfed many enemies so the result is an extremely easy game.
