Easy solution: Don't buy games that are $80. Either don't buy them at launch and wait for a price drop, or skip the game entirely.
Consumers act like they don't have a choice, but they have all the power and just refuse to use it. Companies charge these prices because enough individuals are willing to fork over the money. If we collectively refused to pay these prices, prices would come down. Don't be a slave to FOMO. The world isn't going to end if you don't play a game at launch.
I've never paid $80 for a game and I never will. If I want to play The Outer Worlds 2 at some I guarantee it will be after a massive price drop. I might even pick up a used copy off of eBay.
