I'm not sure if Binary Haze still counts as Indie, but the absolutely wonderful Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist came out this year. Easily a 8.5/10 game and really helped with the Silksong copium.

Foamstars just suffers from being a pale imitation of what it's trying to recreate. It took me all of 4 hours to be done, and most of that was a tutorial with one of the characters solo. It's only major mechanical difference is the unburying, and even that is weirdly hard to do in matches. They had a sponsorship with Holo Live in March, I wonder if they saw what this was and immediately pulled out. Shame really.
