See AllMajor Anime Piracy Website Suddenly Stops Adding New Content
From where I am, life is busy I barely have time to watch anime which is my hobby and one of the reason I'm still around. Netflix, Crunchyroll and other legal streaming websites cost at least a day worth of expenses and it's still going up. While I think piracy have it's demerits, there's also merits in it. Pirated content actually boost it's popularity to those who can't afford to pay subscription of the legal streaming service and actually increases the overall revenue by purchasing merch and goods. I'm not gonna be specific about which websites but there's some doing it for the money while some just trying care for those who can't afford. Shutting some websites down is one thing, if all websites got shut down at the same time, we have to expect massive drop in economics of related parties like ads from shopping platforms, merch revenues etc.
