Nintendo Switch 2 Cartridges May Be Changing
There are two major issues: 1) people are used to full on cart media for the switch, and buying key cards is a big change and 2) the switch lacks storage and as ex cards are small and expensive. For most people if the game comes on a keycard the best option is to buy on a different system. It’s cheaper and usually runs better. The reason previously for picking up on switch was the full physical nature. The other issue is when some games take 120Gb of space. You can fit 1 game on the switch internal or pay an obscene amount for sd ex cards. If the switch 2 had 1tb of storage or used sd cards I expect this would be less of an issue. Disc keys are also more functional on static consoles. People with switches usually have multiple for portability and family. Moving the keycards around is definitely more of a headache given storage limitations.
