World of Warcraft Banks Are Having Problems in The War Within Expansion
Actually most people were completely floored (in the worst way) and rather insulted by what Blizz considered a "restoration effort." If you look through the entire thread (look at the Bug Report one where the initial issue was discussed too) you'll see that the reaction is OVERWHELMINGLY NEGATIVE. IF anyone even got anything back, they tended to be a tiny fraction of what they lost, were often the SAME TYPE OF ITEM (as in the exact KIND of item) that did NOT go missing from the bank. People were thanking the Community Manager posting because Blizzard HAD NOT ADDRESSED THE ISSUE after it was brought up in mid August. Radio silence. I think we were thanking the individual CM for posting. Blizzard has done worse than a piss-poor job of the whole thing.
Many guilds lost SOME items. Quite a few lost everything or almost everything. Some of the players have been playing for nearly 20 years and had acquired through a lot of effort, the items therein. Some people lost items they paid real money for (through a Trading Card Game). Some lost irreplaceable sentimental items, such as personal letters.
Blizzard has failed in SO MANY WAYS. I hope someone does investigate whether streamers, high-profile guilds, WoW content creators got some kind of favorable treatment (for example, could they have gotten THEIR guild's items restored within days so they wouldn't even notice?) Were they subtly threatened (for example, threat of denial of future access) or given things to NOT report on this matter? IF they had their items restored, then the restoration is possible. But Blizzard has chosen NOT to do so for the many customers who have suffered the loss through the actions of the company. Iirc, when Microsoft purchased ABK, they LAID OFF a ton of people. Even before then, the QA dept (who TEST the games to make sure they WORK) and Customer Service got hit hard and it shows. So, they are saving themselves $$ and has chosen to NOT spend it to make things right for customers.
