Power Rangers is one of the most popular superhero shows of all time. The Yellow Ranger is one of the most popular and consistent Ranger colors, but also one of the most criticized. They can either be integral assets to their respective teams, or somewhat unassuming.

Yellow Rangers are one of the most consistent colors in the Rangers. Since their debut, there hasn't been a team featured without a Yellow Ranger. Certain Rangers, like Taylor Earhardt, have even led their respective teams. All in all, Yellow Rangers are often overlooked, but can make or break-it when it comes to an adaptation's success.

10 Emily Is Often Intimidated By Her Circumstances

Power Rangers: Samurai

Emily is the Yellow Samurai Ranger wielding the element of earth. She is an incredible fighter, with a plethora of potent power-ups. The biggest factor in Emily's character is easily her innocent and sweet personality. Emily wasn't originally supposed to be the Samurai Yellow Ranger, and she often lets this fact weigh her down. However, she has more than proven she deserves the Yellow Ranger spot just as much as her older sister.

Power Rangers: 10 Best Black Rangers, Ranked

The Black Rangers typically serve as the Red Rangers' second-in-command and are often one of the most popular rangers of any given series.

Even though she wasn't meant to be the Yellow Ranger, she always trained for the possibility. Aside from her Yellow Ranger impostor syndrome, she is an incredibly capable member of the Samurai squad. She often worries about the other members of her team over herself. However, when push comes to shove, she's easily one of the physically strongest members of the Power Rangers Samurai team.

9 Minh Kwan Follows In Her Mother's Footsteps

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always

Minh Kwan is angry in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Once And Always special

Minh Kwan is the daughter of Trini Kwan. She becomes the third Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger after Rita Repulsa's robotic replica kills her mother. Although she only stars in the special, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once And Always, she has quickly become a fan favorite due to her legacy. Many fans are even somewhat hopeful that a reboot of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers could be created with Minh at its center.

Power Rangers: 10 Best Blue Rangers, Ranked

The Blue Rangers are often some of the best supports on any given Power Rangers team, but some are far more popular (and better) than others.

1

As the Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger, Minh has all the same powers as her mother, but with significantly less experience. That said, the Mighty Morphin Rangers are some of the strongest in the franchise, making Minh an absolute powerhouse. She might not know how to fully utilize her incredible abilities, but she has access to some of the greatest teachers possible.

8 Chip Thorn Is Literally Fast as Lightning

Power Rangers: Mystic Force

Chip Thorn is a lovable goofball and one of the catalysts for the Power Rangers Mystic Force iteration. Given his love of superheroes, Chip has no trouble believing Udonna, the White Ranger, and quickly accepts his role in the story. His element of lightning is extremely fitting since he can never sit still. That said, he always seems to take important battles incredibly seriously.

Thorn is one of the only two male characters to take on the role of Yellow Ranger, but doesn't really make a significant impact on the iteration. Arguably, Thorn has more impact on the Mystic Force team while unmorphed than he does in-action. That said, Chip is integral in Octomus' eventual defeat. He has some of the greatest character development out of any Ranger, but it is still relatively lackluster compared to other incredible Yellow Rangers.

7 Lilly Chillman Is an Expert Martial Artist

Power Rangers: Jungle Fury

Lilly Chillman is one of the most gifted martial artists out of any Yellow Ranger. She has spent her entire life training to harness her animal spirit, which is the crux of her Ranger powers. She is incredibly kind and caring, but that doesn't stop her from being a force to be reckoned with in battle. Using her cheetah powers, she is incredibly fast, but she also has access to the Elephant Spirit, which makes her astoundingly strong.

Chillman's relationship with Jarrod, the series' secondary big bad, provides a larger depth to her and the other Ranger's relationship. Power Rangers Jungle Fury isn't as dark as other Rangers series, but its characters are certainly given more depth. Chillman uses this depth to become one of the more popular Rangers from the early 2000s.

6 Kira Ford Uses Her Vocal Prowess In Her Ranger Powers

Power Rangers: Dino Thunder

Kira Ford is an aspiring musician who actually uses her dream in her everyday Power Rangers activities. Ford stars in the Power Ragers Dino Thunder iteration, which is meant to mirror the original series. Kira is somewhat of an amalgamation of the original Yellow Rangers, with her own unique flair. She is also an active member of the Retro Rangers, returning several times throughout the series.

Ford is revealed to be a successful singer by the year 2025, and is even a favorite of the S.P.D Pink Ranger. She might not be the most powerful Yellow Ranger, but she has one of the most lasting legacies. She is even trained by the greatest ranger of all time, Tommy Oliver.

5 Z Delgado Becomes the Yellow Ranger Despite Her Tenuous History

Power Rangers: S.P.D.

Z Delgado Power Rangers S.P.D. Image via Hasbro

Z Delgado is an incredibly interesting case in Ranger history. She actually begins her series as a petty thief, but is quickly brought to the light by her fellow Ranger. While certain members of the team initially question her, and Jack Landors, participation, Delgado more than proves she deserves a spot on the team. Z also has the interesting power to create clones of herself and become briefly intangible.

Delgado is decidedly less friendly than previous Yellow Rangers, but that works extremely well for her character. When she begins to open up to her team, the moment feels earned instead of forced. She might not have the most interesting Zords or Power Ups, but she features in what is undoubtedly the most popular early-2000's Power Rangers adaptation. Z does return in the "Legendary Battle", along with the rest of her team, but never unmorphs.

4 Ashley Hammond Is a Perfect Send-Off to the Zordon Era

Power Rangers: Turbo

Ashely Hammond is the last Yellow Ranger of the Zordon era, and the perfect send off to the iconic period. She interacts with some of the greatest Rangers in the franchise's history and uses their interactions to further her growth. Many fans also associate Hammond with creating the basic format for the Yellow Ranger that is followed in later series.

Hammond might not be the strongest Yellow Ranger, but she is among the most iconic. She has an incredibly long tenure and fights some of the greatest enemies the Power Rangers have ever faced. Her special abilities and Zords aren't particularly unique, but they are fitting for the overall setting Hammond debuts in.

3 Katie Walker Is Arguably The Physically Strongest Power Ranger Ever

Power Rangers: Time Force

Katie Walker from Power Rangers Time Force is the physically strongest Ranger in history. Her feats of strength are simply unmatched, both unmorphed and otherwise. This might not make Walker the most powerful Ranger, but it proves just how formidable she truly is. Walker is the perfect addition to Time Force's decidedly more serious storylines.

Green may have joined the Power Rangers as an extra member to the group, but quickly became one of the teams' core colors.

Walker's powers and gear are rather basic, but she makes up for it with her impressive strength. She might not serve the Rangers for very long, but she remains many fan's favorite Yellow Ranger. Ultimately, when compared to her companions, there are few Rangers more prepared for battle than Katie Walker.

2 Trini Kwan Is the Original Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Trini Kwan

Trini Kwan is the original Yellow Mighty Morphin Ranger and arguably the most iconic. She is also one of the few Rangers who have canonically passed. The actress portraying Trini would pass away in 2001 and the character would share her fate in the 2022 special Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Forever and Always.

The Red Rangers are usually the strongest and most capable members of every Power Rangers team, but that isn't always the case.

11

Kwan serves as the guidelines for every previous Yellow Ranger to follow. She might be softer spoken than her pink companion, yet she makes her mark just the same. Trini is the smartest of the Mighty Morphin Rangers, aside from Billy, and regularly helps the Blue Ranger in his various experiments. She even nobly sacrifices herself to save the Blue Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Forever and Always proving once and for all her dedication to saving others.

1 Taylor Earhardt Is the Only Yellow Ranger to Lead the Team

Power Rangers: Wild Force

Taylor Earhardt is the only Yellow Ranger to have led the team, even if it was only briefly. She led the Rangers before Cole Evan's introduction, and is often considered the pinnacle of Yellow Rangers. Earhardt is a great leader and an even better combatant. She is initially skeptical of Cole's involvement in the force, but becomes one of his greatest advocates after he proves himself.

Earhardt often employs her abilities and Zord to great effect. She has the ability to fly as the Yellow eagle Ranger and often employs aerial attacks in her already impressive combat style. She might not have some of the same power-ups as later series, but it could be argued that she never needed them. Ultimately, Taylor serves as the most powerful and popular of all the Yellow Rangers in the franchise's history.
