It has been roughly a month since Hasbro, Lionsgate, and the developer nWay released the first official trailer to reveal the forthcoming fighting game Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, but the companies have only confirmed a limited number of the title's playable characters. Today, a fresh trailer has been released, with the footage introducing Zordon of Eltar, and also showcasing gameplay that reveals Lord Drakkon and highlights his move set.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid's latest trailer is on the short side, but it manages to pack in a little bit of expository details in regards to Lord Drakkon's nefarious role in the fighting game's overarching story. Zordon warns potential players to defend their respective worlds against the evil Power Ranger's impending arrival in the game, as Lord Drakkon intends on staking ownership in the Morphin Grid and existence itself.

While Zordon makes an appearance in Battle for the Grid's "Rise of Drakkon" gameplay trailer, it's a safe to presume that the galactic wizard and mentor to the Power Rangers won't be included in the fighting game as a playable character. Lord Drakkon, on the other hand, will offer players the chance to master his dual dagger-wielding approach to combat, which gives him high mobility and a wide range of attacks.

According to nWay, many of Lord Drakkon's combos and attack sequences in Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid will be beginner-friendly, but he also has some skills that would benefit sticking with him long term in order to learn them. Apparently, the corrupt alternate timeline version of Tommy Oliver will have several advanced techniques that players can learn in order to better optimize his move set as a whole.

Lord Drakkon's arrival in Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid will likely excite many fans of the long-running superhero franchise, but hopefully nWay will unveil more characters soon. The fighting game is coming at some point in Spring 2019, which is around the time of the launch for such competitors as Mortal Kombat 11, so a bigger roster would definitely boost player interest.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is scheduled to release at some point during Spring 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
