After becoming the first game to offer cross-play across five platforms, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is still continuing to push updates and new content to its players. In some of the first material for the game's third season DLC pass, for example, developer nWay confirmed the next fighter on its roster.
According to a PlayStation Blog post, nWay will release Robert "RJ" James as the first character in Battle for the Grid's latest DLC. The purple Wolf Ranger hails from Power Rangers: Jungle Fury, and will be the nineteenth playable character. After briefly summarizing RJ's backstory, the developer emphasized RJ's unique play style.
As opposed to the rest of the game's cast, RJ is for players who prefer more physical attacks. Rather than using weapons, RJ can create energy disks for his primary special attack. Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid has also included an jumping attack with Knee Crush and a heel kick for successful combinations. Even the character's ultimate attack is a spinning uppercut.
To guide players into understanding RJ's fighting style, nWay recommends using the Jungle Fury Wolf Ranger as a "rushdown brawler" with lockdown assists to cover for any shortcomings. For players who are interested in fighting in one of Power Rangers' classic giant mechas, the developer also advertised today's release of the Samurai Megazord in a free patch.
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, Stadia and Xbox One
