Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 is officially coming to consoles on June 25, bringing the latest entry in the episodic survival horror game to a multitude of potential new players. The fourth chapter of Poppy Playtime will be available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation and Xbox-brand consoles, and wishlisting options are available now on the PlayStation, Microsoft, and Nintendo stores.
With its first chapter originally launched in October 2021, the independently developed game from Mob Entertainment has built up a major following, with much of its popularity coming from the reactions of horror game streamers. Poppy Playtime's controversial elements, including its combining of horror themes with colorful, kid-friendly-looking characters, seem to have only increased its reach to the gaming community.

With the fourth chapter out, it's time to take a look at all of Poppy Playtime's existing chapters and see how each ranked up with pros and cons.
Chapter 4 of Poppy Playtime was originally released exclusively for PC in January 2025, and nearly half a year later, console players will be able to pick it up near the end of June. The fourth chapter will be priced at $19.99 on all available consoles, which is the same price it is currently listed for on Steam. Titled Safe Haven, the newest chapter's story picks up following Poppy's big reveal about the catalyst for the Hour of Joy, in which the Playtime Co. Toy factory's workers were slaughtered by its creations. Chapter 4 also confirms the fate of friendly toy monster Kissy Missy, who was attacked outside the player's view in one of the most intense climactic moments of Chapter 3.
Poppy Playtime Comes to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Consoles on June 25
First-time players will also get to meet Poppy Playtime Chapter 4's new characters. The most prominent of these is Yarnaby, a hostile, rainbow-colored, lion-like yarn doll creature, who serves as the biggest danger to the player during most of the chapter's action-oriented segments. Others making their Poppy Playtime debut in Chapter 4 are Doey the Doughman, a helpful yet volatile resident of the Safe Haven, and an antagonistic computer program called The Doctor.
Despite the game's growth in popularity over a span of more than three years, the fourth chapter has been the least well-received so far. The first and third installments still enjoy "Very Positive" reviews on Steam, with the second chapter lagging just slightly behind, but Chapter 4's reviews sit in the "Mixed" category, with only about two-thirds of its reviews recommending it. Much of the criticism has come from bugs and technical issues, and while other Poppy Playtime chapters suffered similar fates early on before Mob Entertainment fixed the issues, the problems with Chapter 4 seem to be persistent, with reviews in the last 30 days roughly reflecting its early scores. With its PC release more than five months ago, many fans already know what to expect from Poppy Playtime Chapter 4, but they may be hoping for better stability on consoles.
