Like many heroes, Pikachu, the Pokémon protagonist of the original Pokemon anime, has a lot of plot armor. After all, Pikachu is an unevolved Pokémon, as well as a non-Legendary and non-Mythical Pokémon. Despite these obstacles, Ash and Pikachu are still able to win almost any battle, even against Pokémon that would normally be impossible to beat.

However, there are some Pokémon that, whether Pikachu decides to battle them or not, would prove to be extremely difficult to defeat. Many of these Pokémon are Legendary Pokémon, though some fall into the category of Mythical Pokémon. Regardless, these Pokémon have powers that can change the world if they so wish, or destroy it completely.

7 Anime Series Better Than Pokemon

Pokemon, especially its first season, is a wonderful show, yet there are several anime with much more famous narratives.

The Illusory Entei Went Against Its Creators

Entei Proved To Be a Challenge for Ash’s Pokémon

At the start of Pokémon 3: The Movie, Professor Spencer Hale works hard not only to uncover the secrets of the mysterious Psychic-type Unown, but to care for his daughter, Molly, by himself after his wife's sudden disappearance. However, after Professor Hale finds some ruins belonging to the Symbol Pokémon, he is transported to a strange dimension. Left alone, Molly grapples with the loss of her father while looking through his old texts. Her search accidentally summons a horde of Unown, who create a powerful Entei to act as her new "father", as the Pokémon reminds her of her missing parent.

Molly wishes for a new maternal figure, so Entei, seeing how she envies Ash for having his mother, Delia, whisks her away to Molly's palace. Thus, Ash and his friends must navigate the world Molly and the Unown have created in hopes of rescuing Delia, who learns more about Molly during her imprisonment. In the meantime, Ash's Pokémon, even including Charizard, are called upon to battle the Entei created by the Unown. Given how difficult the battle against Entei was, as well as the Legendary Pokémon's revolt against its creators, it is safe to say that this unique Pokémon could certainly defeat Pikachu.

Giratina Is Imprisoned in the Distortion World

Team Galactic Once Tried To Use This Pokémon’s Powers

Giratina Origin Forme in Distorsion World.

Eons ago, Arceus, the creator of the Pokémon world, manifested the Pokémon of myth into existence. However, due to its misdeeds, the Alpha Pokémon banished Giratina into a strange dimension known as the Distortion World. From its ever-changing prison, the Renegade Pokémon can observe what goes on in the real world. However, there have been records of times when Giratina is summoned from its prison, back into the main Pokémon world.

Aside from Pokémon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior, the Renegade Pokémon also appeared in Pokémon Generations, via the episode "The New World". There, the events of Pokémon Platinum played out, including Cyrus' plan to use Giratina to destroy the existing world in order to create a "better" world. However, Cyrus would never witness the birth of a new world, as Giratina instead captured him and took him to the Distortion World. Giratina as a whole is one of the most mysterious Pokémon, a creature of antimatter that can never truly be understood with powers to match.

Rayquaza Is the Only Pokemon Who Can Defeat Kyogre and Groudon

This Super-Ancient Pokémon Can Mega Evolve

Alone, Kyogre and Groudon are known to be relatively calm Pokémon, unless angered. However, if the Sea Basin Pokémon and the Continent Pokémon cross paths, then they will continue their violent, eons-long feud. In ancient times, the entire Hoenn region was nearly destroyed due to the great battle between the two super-ancient Pokémon. The world was thankfully saved due to the actions of the third super-ancient Pokémon, the Dragon/Flying-type Rayquaza.

In Pokémon Emerald, as well as the anime and manga arcs based off the game, Team Magma and Team Aqua summon Groudon and Kyogre, restarting the terrible war between the super-ancient Pokémon. It is only thanks to the efforts of the Hoenn region's heroes that Rayquaza returns once more, its sheer aura convincing the two other Legendary Pokémon to cease their battle. Though Rayquaza is immensely powerful in its own right (especially with its signature move Dragon Ascent), it is also the only super-ancient Pokémon that can Mega Evolve. Ash's Pikachu never battled against the Sky High Pokémon, but if he had, the outcome may not have been in his favor.

Mewtwo Was Created From Mew’s DNA

Ash’s Brave Actions Ceased the Violence Caused by Mewtwo

Mewtwo In The Pokemon Anime

The Mythical Pokémon Mew itself is regarded as extraordinary, yet its clone, Mewtwo, is one of the most feared Pokémon in the world. Created by Team Rocket, Mewtwo was originally used by Giovanni as a tool to win any battle he encountered. However, Mewtwo broke free from Team Rocket's control and vowed to destroy humanity. In the meantime, Mewtwo struggled to find its purpose in life, as it was haunted by those who created it.

Calling itself a "true" Pokémon master, Mewtwo imprisoned several Trainers and their Pokémon, including Ash, in order to create clones. What soon followed was a display of violence that left the humans watching in shock, exclaiming how the scene before them could not be called a Pokémon battle. As Mew tries to stop Mewtwo but finds it could only fight back, Ash leaps in front of the two Pokémon, resulting in his temporary demise. Thankfully, his revival allowed Mewtwo to step back and gain a new perspective, thus bringing an end to the senseless violence.

Arceus Is the Creator of the Pokemon Universe

There Once Was a Time When Arceus Nearly Destroyed the World It Created

Out of all the fantastical Pokémon in the roster, Arceus acts as the "god" of the Pokémon world, as it is said to have created the franchise's universe. Because of its extraordinary abilities, including its type-changing Multitype Ability, it is incredibly sought after. Some Trainers, such as the infamous Volo, are shown to obsess over the Alpha Pokémon, wanting it to become their Pokémon. Others, failing to have the Pokémon in their roster, have tried to make their own "copies", as seen with Lusamine and the Aether Foundation.

Arceus is usually a benevolent creature, yet a wise being knows to never make it angry, lest the consequences be beyond catastrophic. The Alpha Pokémon had a leading role in Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, where it was shown to have been betrayed by humanity in the ancient past. After returning to the present day, the Alpha Pokémon vowed to destroy the universe it once created. In fact, this threat was so immense that it could not be solved with battles alone; the heroes were forced to travel back in time in order to prevent Arceus' rage in the first place.
