Pokemon TCG Pocket's most recent main expansion, Wisdom of Sea and Sky, was released on July 30, just one month after the launch of the Eevee Grove subset. Unlike the last main expansion, which was centered almost entirely around Alolan Pokemon, Wisdom of Sea and Sky primarily featured Generation 2 Pokemon, like Ho-Oh and Lugia, as well as characters from the Johto region, such as Jasmine and Silver. Baby Pokemon, a new class of Pokemon with attacks that require no energy to use, were also introduced to Pokemon TCG Pocket in this set.
Like with all expansions in Pokemon TCG Pocket, Wisdom of Sea and Sky has brought with it a range of new missions for players to complete. Although the majority of these objectives are pretty time-consuming, they, for the most part, are not that difficult. The Dex Missions, for example, only require players to register a certain number of cards in the Card Dex, while the Themed Collections for the set almost entirely feature common, uncommon, and rare Pokemon cards. One of the missions in Wisdom of Sea and Sky, however, is so needlessly convoluted that some free-to-play players may have a hard time completing it.
Smeargle's Colorful Collection is One of Pokemon TCG Pocket's Oddest Secret Missions
As some Pokemon TCG Pocket enthusiasts may know, Wisdom of Sea and Sky has 28 Themed Collections. Out of these Collections, however, only 22 of them are immediately visible in the game. Six of the Collection-related missions in this set are entirely hidden from view, and they only appear after a player collects all the cards necessary to complete them. The hidden Themed Collections — or Secret Missions, as they are also called — in Pokemon TCG Pocket are usually meant to be more difficult than their regular counterparts. That said, the Secret Mission called Smeargle's Colorful Collection takes things to a whole new level when it comes to complexity.
Smeargle's Colorful Collection is a tad unique compared to the other Secret Missions in Wisdom of Sea and Sky because, instead of requiring a specific set of cards to complete, it can be finished in multiple different ways. Normally, one would think that this would make the mission a lot easier than expected, but in this particular instance, it mostly just makes it more obtuse. In order to complete Smeargle's Colorful Collection, players have to collect a total of 10 cards. All of them, however, have to be either illustration rares or special illustration rare Pokemon ex cards.

Finishing Smeargle's Colorful Collection May Require a Lot of Time and/or Money
Players need to obtain at least one illustration rare in the Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion for every TCG type in Pokemon TCG Pocket. This, in other words, means that they have to get a Grass-type Pokemon, a Fire-type Pokemon, a Water-type Pokemon, an Electric-type Pokemon, and so on. The only specific card that players need in order to complete this mission is, unsurprisingly, the illustration rare variant of Smeargle. While this Smeargle card may be easier to get compared to the rainbow rare Pokemon ex cards that are necessary to obtain in some other Secret Missions, it's still pretty difficult to unlock without spending any money in the game.
The Reward for Completing Smeargle's Colorful Collection is Pretty Underwhelming
If players manage to complete Smeargle's Colorful Collection, they get a special Smeargle emblem as a reward. While this emblem does look nice, it doesn't really have a practical purpose, so one could argue that finishing this mission is not worth the effort. Smeargle's Colorful Collection may not be the most difficult Secret Mission in Pokemon TCG Pocket, but the fact that it requires so many rare cards and doesn't provide any substantial rewards in exchange for them makes it among the most underwhelming ones in the entire game.
