Hajime Syacho, a popular Japanese YouTuber boasting over 15 million subscribers on his main channel, recently revealed that he has hit the daily spending limit in Pokemon TCG Pocket since launch day. This amounts to around 1.12 million yen (approximately $7,200) spent so far, which equates to 50,000 cards. While players who subscribe to Pokemon TCG Pocket's Premium Pass can open an extra booster pack each day and win additional rewards, it's also possible to purchase up to 720 Poke Gold each day, which can be used to purchase exclusive goods and gain access to more cards. Some players in the comments noted that, without spending any money at all, they had only been able to amass between 1,000 and 1,300 cards since the game's launch in late 2024.

Pokemon TCG Pocket continues to roll out unique events for players, with the Blastoise Wonder Pick event underway until January 22. The most recent update made to the game also triggered the return of the Mythical Island SP Emblem event, which divided the fanbase, as many believe that having to win consecutive battles is too frustrating and time-consuming for the rewards on offer. Additionally, certain cards will be able to be traded starting in January, with the feature gradually expanding over time.

Pokemania has returned to the world in a big way, from the continued popularity of Pokemon TCG Pocket to the return of Pokemon cards to McDonald's Happy Meals in the US. Fans are eagerly awaiting news of the next major entry in the franchise, with many postulating that the upcoming game Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2.
