Pokemon TCG Pocket has introduced Guzma, a new card that allows players to remove Pokemon Tools. The card is one of the additions made by Celestial Guardians, the third Pokemon TCG Pocket main expansion that brought over 200 new cards for players to collect.
Celestial Guardians features most of the Gen 7 Pokemon, including the Legendary duo Solgaleo and Lunala, who are the faces of the booster packs. The expansion also adds to the game all the Alolan forms introduced by the main series games and some of the Trial Captains - the group of Alolan trainers equivalent to Gym Leaders. Unlike previous expansions, Celestial Guardians has added the first immersive Trainer cards in the history of Pokemon TCG Pocket, and one of them addresses a request that players have been making for some time.
Pokemon TCG Pocket has added the Guzma Trainer card, which allows players to remove Pokemon Tools. As noted by Twitter user PokeGirlLauren, the “evil” card draws attention by allowing players to discard all tool cards used by the opponent's active Pokemon. A tool removal card was a popular request from Pokemon TCG Pocket players, who were overwhelmed by the powerful synergies between Tool and Pokemon cards, especially the Darkrai ex, Weavile ex, Druddigon, and Rocky Helmet combo.
How Pokemon TCG Pocket Players Can Get the Guzma Trainer Card
Guzma has three variants available that players only get by opening Lunala's Pokemon TCG Pocket packs. The regular variant has a 2.6% chance of dropping as the fourth card, the immersive has a 0.2% chance, and the gold background full art has only a 0.03% chance of appearing. As the fifth card in the pack, Guzma regular, immersive, and gold background full art have, respectively, a 1.6%, 0.8%, and 0.1% drop rate. In addition, players can use Pack Points to craft new Pokemon TCG Pocket cards, obtaining Guzma cards using 70 (regular), 1,250 (full art gold background), and 1,500 (immersive) points.
With the release of the new expansion, Pokemon TCG Pocket has added another immersive Trainer card in addition to Guzma, with players able to pull Lillie by opening Solgaleo booster packs. Other released Trainer cards included in the same pack are Lana, Sophocles, and Mallow. Players who open the Solgaleo boosters will have a chance at the Trainer cards Acerola, Ilima, and Kiawe. The new set has also added two new Pokemon Tool cards: Leaf Cape is available in the Solgaleo pack, and Poison Barb is up for grabs in the Lunala pack.
