With the game's one-year anniversary looming large on the horizon, Pokemon TCG Pocket is preparing to usher in a new era of cards and packs. The first "B" expansion will be dropping at the end of October, but before it arrives, fans of the game can look forward to a special deluxe booster pack with a much higher pull rate than any of the themed boosters or expansions that came before it.

According to an official press release from the Pokemon Company, Deluxe Pack: ex packs will go live at 11 pm EDT on September 29, which works out to be 2 am EDT or 7 am BST on September 30. Unlike previous packs and expansions, Deluxe Pack: ex packs will only be available for 30 days, with the aforementioned press release mentioning that they'll no longer be available in the app after 11 pm PDT on October 29. With this in mind, players should be sure to pull everything they want from the Deluxe Pack: ex booster pack before then, as there's no telling when exactly it will return.
What to Expect from Deluxe Pack: ex Booster Packs
Unlike previous expansions and themed boosters, Deluxe Pack: ex packs will only contain four cards instead of the usual five or six. However, one of these cards is guaranteed to be of ♦♦♦♦ rarity or higher, giving players a chance to add some incredibly rare ex cards to their collections. Unfortunately, all of the ♦♦♦♦ rarity ex cards found in the collection will be ones from previous packs, although certain non-ex cards will be treated to brand-new art rare varients, while certain ex cards like Pikachu, Buzzwole, and Arceus will get Parallel Foil versions. With this in mind, players can expect at least 14 new cards of ★ rarity or higher.
