The trailer for Pokemon TCG Pocket's A4 set has seemingly leaked online, revealing 14 upcoming cards, including the rumored Ho-Oh EX and Lugia EX. The leak follows disappointment from fans, as July's Pokemon Presents skipped over Pokemon TCG Pocket entirely and shared no new updates.
Prior to this latest leak, some Pokemon TCG Pocket speculations about the A4 set suggested that it would likely be themed around Gold and Silver, featuring mostly Gen 2 creatures. These theories came from datamined hidden accessories in the in-game shop, which included references to Lugia and Pichu. The newly leaked video, however, leaves little room for doubt, as it looks too good not to be real.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Rare Picks Are Better Now Than They Were at Launch
A change made to a special game mechanic in Pokemon TCG Pocket by developer DeNA makes collecting certain rare cards much easier for players.
Posted on Reddit by user _foxlife, the newly leaked Pokemon TCG Pocket trailer appears to have been accidentally uploaded by the Italian branch of the official Pokemon YouTube channel. Based on the video, the A4 set seems to be titled something along the lines of "The Way of the Sky and the Sea," a literal translation of the Italian name. The trailer also offers a look at 14 new cards coming to the Pokemon TCG Pocket roster, including Ho-Oh EX, Lugia EX, shiny Gyarados, Umbreon EX, and Espeon EX.
All 14 Leaked Cards From Pokemon TCG Pocket's A4 Set
- Ho-Oh EX: Take a Fire Energy, a Grass Energy, and a Lightning Energy from your Energy Zone, and assign them to your Benched Basic Pokemon in any way you like.
- Lugia EX: Remove a Fire Energy, a Grass Energy, and a Lightning Energy from this Pokemon.
- Umbreon EX: Once during your turn, if this Pokemon is in the Active Spot, you may switch one of your opponent's damaged Benched Pokemon with their Active Pokemon.
- Espeon EX: Once during your turn, if this Pokemon is in the Active Spot, you may heal 20 damage from one of your Pokemon.
- Gyarados (shiny): You may discard any number of Pokemon from your Bench. This attack does 40 more damage for each Benched Pokemon you discarded in this way.
- Cleffa: Take a random Pokemon from your deck and add it to your hand.
- Pichu: Take an Energy card from your discard pile and attach it to one of your Benched Pokemon.
- Lyra: Choose one of your Pokemon, then shuffle it and all cards attached to it into your deck.
- Silver: Remove a Special Energy card from one of your opponent's Pokemon.
- Pokemon Shoes (speculated): If the Pokemon this card is attached to is switched with your Active Pokemon, heal 30 damage from that Pokemon.
- Elemental Switch (speculated): Move a Lightning Energy and a Fire Energy from your Pokemon to your Active Pokemon.
- Cyndaquil: N/A
The above translations come from Reddit user IBooshI, who noted that they might not be entirely accurate. As with all Pokemon TCG Pocket leaks, players should take the card descriptions and abilities with a grain of salt until official confirmation.
So far, most fans have reacted positively to the upcoming set, with many expressing excitement over the teased cards. A major highlight of the A4 set for many appears to be the introduction of baby Pokemon like Pichu, Cleffa, and Cyndaquil, which could mark the beginning of a new era for digital card collectors.
Aside from the Gold and Silver theme, the leaked video also confirms that Pokemon TCG Pocket's A4 will launch on July 30, just as most earlier speculations predicted. It remains to be seen whether the developer will officially release the trailer today now that it has leaked.
