Yanmega ex has a few key aspects working in its favor. First, it is a second-stage evolution, meaning it's faster to set up than many other Ace Pokemon. In addition to this, it is equipped with a generous 140 HP and the Air Slash attack. This move deals 120 damage per turn, at the cost of discarding a random Energy. However, Yanmega also has a colorless Energy Type, meaning it can slot nicely into many different builds and utilize various strategies to feed itself Energy.

However, Yanmega ex can be quite tricky to get onto the field in some circumstances, due to Yanma being quite fragile. For this reason, Dialga ex has been implemented as a secondary Ace Pokemon to fill a damage tank role whilst you get Yanma + Yanmega ex set up on the bench. Furthermore, this combination works quite well due to Dialga ex's Metallic Turbo attack, which can feed extra Metal Energy to Yanma, therefore fueling Air Slash.

Mew ex has also been added as a backup attacker to help pivot and counter specific threats and give you more options if you run into a tricky situation. The likes of Pokemon Tools such as Rocky Helmet and Giant Cape help buff Yanmega ex, and the remaining Supporter and Item cards assist with getting cards into your hand, disrupting your opponent's Active Pokemon, and rotating your Pokemon in and out of the Active, Benched, and Hand spots.
