DeNA seems to be in a benevolent mood, as the release of Pokemon TCG Pocket's A4 expansion comes with multiple new ways for fans to earn additional Pack Hourglasses. For those unfamiliar, this specific currency is essential for speeding up the pack-opening process, making it the most precious item in the game.

The next Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket expansion is coming, and Wisdom of Sea and Sky will be a great time for hoarding players.

Right now, players have three ways to get up to 19 extra booster packs: 1) They can link their app store account with Pokemon TCG Pocket to receive 36 Pack Hourglasses; 2) they may exchange old Trade Tokens for up to 60 Pack Hourglasses in the shop; and 3) they can complete the new expansion's Solo Battles, which can yield up to 134 Pack Hourglasses.

  • Link Account Mission: 36 Pack Hourglasses (3 booster packs)
  • Trade Token Exchange: 60 Pack Hourglasses (5 booster packs)

Those looking to make the most of their soon-to-be-discontinued Trade Tokens will need to head to the in-game shop. From there, they should navigate to the Limited Time / Events section, where they can exchange excess Tokens for either Pack Hourglasses or Shinedust. Note that this is a one-time offer and disappears once all Trade Tokens are used.

To link a Nintendo or app store account, players just need to open the hamburger menu in the bottom-right corner and select Settings. Then, under the Account tab, they can enter their Nintendo or app store credentials to complete the linking process and claim the rewards. Solo Battles, on the other hand, have been the go-to method for farming Pokemon TCG Pocket booster packs since launch, and most players are already familiar with it. For newcomers, it can be found in the Battle menu, right next to Versus mode.

The Wisdom of Sea and Sky set includes over 220 cards, making every extra Pack Hourglass invaluable. The good news is that Pokemon TCG Pocket is likely to launch new events tied to the current A4 set that are expected to offer even more booster pack currencies. For instance, a Drop Event is slated for release on August 6, followed by the Marill and Weavile Wonder Pick Event.
