An informative new Pokemon Trading Card Game chart shows the pull rates for the card game's newest set, showcasing how hard it is to pull Phantasmal Flames' rarest cards. The newest era of the beloved trading card game branch of the monster-catching franchise kicked off with a bang earlier this year with the launch of the Mega Evolution set. Mega Evolution brought Mega Pokemon back to the Pokemon TCG, alongside the introduction of a brand-new rarity with the elusive "Mega Hyper Rare" cards. Now, Pokemon fans are getting an idea of how hard certain cards are to pull.

The Pokemon Trading Card Game's newest set features plenty of highly sought-after cards, both for players and collectors of the card game. Phantasmal Flames features Mega Charizard X as its main spotlight Pokemon, with the Pokemon TCG adding both a stunning Special Illustration Rare and a Mega Hyper Rare version of the Mega Pokemon. The set also added several other Mega Pokemon to the game, welcoming new cards based on Mega Heracross, Mega Diancie, and Mega Lopunny among others. However, fans may have to open a lot of packs for Phantasmal Flames' biggest chase cards.

The elusive Special Illustration Rare cards boast a tiny 1-in-80 hit rate, while the Mega Hyper Rare Charizard sits at a staggering rate of one in every 1,260 packs.

  • Double Rare: 1/5, 1/48 for specific Double Rares
  • Ultra Rare: 1/12, 1/211 for specific Ultra Rares
  • Illustration Rare: 1/9, 1/118 for specific Ultra Rares
  • Special Illustration Rare: 1/80, 1/400 for specific Special Illustration Rares

Phantasmal Flames' litany of new cards look to provide lots more than just stunning high-rarity cards for fans to collect. Phantasmal Flames and the Pokemon TCG has seen such explosive popularity that many retailers like GameStop and Wal-Mart have even begun to limit Pokemon TCG sales to individual customers.
