A teaser trailer from the Pokemon TCG reveals four brand-new Mega Pokemon coming in Ascended Heroes. Mega Eelektross combines both Bench damage and high single-target hits with its attacks, making it effective at sniping out set-up Pokemon. The Pokemon Company already revealed Mega Dragonite, with its Sky Transport ability allowing players to switch out their Active Pokemon for free, while Mega Froslass punishes players for having too many cards in their hand with its Resentful Refrain attack.
Ascended Heroes Looks to Be A Big Set to Kick Off 2026
Ascended Heroes could look to have a major impact on the Pokemon TCG's competitive meta, introducing a plethora of powerful cards. The previously-revealed Mega Feraligatr is expected to be a powerhouse, able to knock out the game's toughest Pokemon with a single attack. Mega Froslass ex will likely see play within the game's competitive scene, thanks to its powerful hand-targeted attack, while Mega Dragonite could be an effective support option for many decks. Ascended Heroes is scheduled to officially release on January 30 as the first special expansion of the Mega Evolution era.
